As I mentioned a couple of posts back, we had a long, beautiful ride through the Guadalupe and Davis Mountains. Highway 118 was gorgeous, challenging riding.
We could see that we were in for some weather. But we managed to get into our rain gear in time and avoid any lightning strikes. At one point, I thought hail was hitting us. But I saw no stones so it must have been really hard rain.
The water accumulated quickly, causing fast-moving streams on the roadside. It made me take those low-water crossing warning signs a l lot more seriously.
